What is eyebrow tinting?

Eyebrow tinting darkens each strand with a semi-permanent dye, so pale, grey or uneven arches look deeper, fuller and one consistent shade for four to six weeks. The dye goes into the strands only, never the skin. Your natural shape stays exactly as it is, and nothing is added.

How the Treatment Works

Your specialist matches a shade to your natural eyebrows, hair and skin tone
Makeup and oil come off the area, and a barrier cream protects the surrounding skin
The dye goes on with a fine brush and develops for a few minutes
A damp pad removes the dye, and your artist checks the result in daylight before finishing
Stray hairs come out at the end, once the full outline is visible, and brow shaping can be booked into the same visit for a complete reshape

On its own the treatment takes around 15 minutes, and with a tidy about 30. Dyeing is also the final step of Brow Lamination, which brings the appointment to roughly an hour.

How to Prepare

Book a patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment, even if another salon tested you recently
Stop using retinoids and exfoliating acids around your eyes two to three days beforehand
Skip plucking for a week before, so your artist sees your natural growth
Tell your artist about any past reaction to hair dye or a black henna tattoo, an eye infection, eczema or broken skin in the area, or pregnancy

Aftercare

Keep the area dry for 24 hours: no swimming, saunas, steam rooms or intense workouts
Avoid cleansers and makeup removers for the first day
After that, keep exfoliating acids, retinoids and oil-based removers away from the area, as they strip pigment faster
Rebook every four to six weeks, when the shade has softened and new growth has come through

Why do I need a patch test before a brow tint?
