Facial Massage

Facial Massage

Your face holds tension just like your back does. It just shows differently. A facial massage at PIED-DE-POULE works directly on those muscles to release the grip, clear puffiness, and bring back definition that stress and screen time quietly take away. Sessions run 30 - 60 minutes, every day from 9am to 9pm in South Kensington.

What Is A Facial Massage?

Facial massage is manual work on the muscles of your face, jaw, and neck – the kind of tension release your body gets from a back massage, applied where it’s actually needed. The jaw clenches through long meetings, the forehead holds at screens, the neck stays contracted for hours. Over time that shows – not as pain, but puffiness, and a face that looks heavier than it should. A session works through those muscles directly, shifting blood flow and releasing the grip that builds up without you noticing it.

The session can go two directions: sculpting and definition work around the cheekbones and jawline, or deeper release for jaw clenching, tension headaches, and chronic neck tightness.

Your therapist reads which is needed and works accordingly – the same anatomy-led approach that underpins our relaxation massage, where reading the body before working on it is what separates a useful session from a generic one.

30 minutes addresses the key areas. 60 covers the full face, neck, and décolletage. Clients who carry tension through the whole body sometimes add a sport massage to the same visit – the face and body work reinforces each other without overlap.

How the facial massage is performed

01
Consultation

Your therapist asks about your jaw, neck, skin, and any recent procedures – Botox, fillers, or facial surgery all affect timing and technique. This takes about five minutes and determines the entire approach.

02
Skin Assessment and Cleanse

The therapist checks your skin before choosing the massage medium. A double cleanse follows – thorough enough to work on skin that came in with makeup, SPF, or both.

03
Treatment

Work begins at the neck and jaw, moving upward through the cheeks, cheekbones, temples, and forehead. Each zone is addressed in sequence – release first, then tone and definition where the face needs it.

04
Aftercare Guidance

Before you leave, your therapist covers post-session care: stay hydrated, avoid heavy products on the skin, skip heat and exercise for a few hours. For visible and lasting results, most clients book every one to two weeks.

How the facial massage works

facial treatment at north kensington
  • MUSCLE RELEASE

Sustained manual pressure breaks the contraction cycle in the jaw, temples, and forehead – muscles that rarely get direct work.

  • CIRCULATION

Increased blood flow to the facial tissue clears dullness and restores colour within a single session.

  • LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Work along the drainage lines of the face and neck reduces puffiness that builds up when tight muscles slow fluid movement.

  • DEFINED CONTOURS

When the muscles beneath the cheekbones and jawline hold less tension, the bone structure underneath becomes more visible.

  • HEADACHE RELIEF

Releasing the muscle groups around the jaw, temples, and base of the skull directly reduces the tension that triggers headaches.

  • SKIN TONE

Better circulation and lymphatic movement improve the texture and evenness of the skin – without any intervention to the surface itself.

FAQ

  • How long is a face massage session?

Sessions run 30 or 60 minutes. Thirty minutes covers the jaw, neck, and key facial zones; sixty adds fuller work across the décolletage and allows more time on sculpting.

  • Do I need to take my makeup off before coming in?

No – the session includes a double cleanse as standard. Arriving without makeup means more of your time goes toward the massage itself.

  • Will it hurt around the jaw?

Pressure is firm in areas that hold chronic tension, but it stays within a manageable threshold. Your therapist adjusts throughout based on your feedback.

  • Can I book a facial massage if I've had Botox or fillers recently?

Wait at least three weeks after injectables before booking – the product needs time to fully settle. For facial surgery, the minimum is six to eight weeks.

  • How often should I come in?

Once every one to two weeks produces the most consistent results. A single session is visible; regular sessions build on it.

  • Is this only for people with skin concerns?

No. Clients come in for jaw tension, headaches, stress, or simply because the face needs the same maintenance the rest of the body gets. Skin type is not a factor. Can I try it before committing to a course?
